Holiday Card Making Workshop: Saturday, December 10, 1-4pm
If you have missed our Holiday Card Making Workshop before, here’s your chance to see what the fuss is about! Join us in the RedLine Printshop for playful creations of hand printed and collaged holiday cards and other surprises! Come for the whole session or drop-in anytime.
We will provide:
- 8.5×11 white and blue cardstock (limited supply of 2-3 sheets per person, but if you bring your own, create as many cards as you can!)
- 4×6 white envelopes
- Pre-made Christmas/Hanukkah/Seasonal themed silk screen designs that are ready to print (and we’ll show you how!)
- Christmas and seasonal themed collage materials
- Basic tools like scissors, glue, etc. you need to create your own holiday cards
- Hot chocolate, coffee and cookies
Cost: $10 per person (children 2 and under are free), pre-registration not required.
Wanting to learn to make paper? Join our Papermaking Studio Orientation:
December 3, 11-2PM, -$20
11-12pm – Technical Studio Orientation – Participants will explore the possibilities of using abaca, cotton, recycled paper by preparing fibers and rehydrating them in the whizmixer. The training includes use of sizing, colorants and additives. Once participants are trained they become eligible for use of the paper studio during open hours. The cost of open hours work is $20/three hour session TH, F, Sat 10-3 pm. and $8/per pound of fibers. Additives are included.
12-2pm – Learn Basic Sheetforming and Casting – Papermaking is fun and requires no experience. Participants can experiment with brightly colored pulp painting, laminating to make two color or two fiber paper and casting a basic small bowl form. Bring your own decorative elements such as photocopies, thread, ribbons or other flat objects to add to your paper. A fun afternoon for kids and adults alike. Papermaking is not messy, but it is wet. Wear flat shoes for the workshop.
