OPENING RECEPTION GALLERY NIGHT, FRIDAY, JANUARY 20, 6-9PM.  LOCAL ARTIST, Anne Kingsbury, a lifelong artist and Executive Director for Woodland Pattern Book Center since 1979 opens 2012 at RedLine Milwaukee.  She  has received a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, three grants from the Wisconsin Arts Board, a grant from the Milwaukee Artists Foundation and an artist’s fellowship from Art Futures.  Kingsbury’s work in mixed media has been featured in many publications. Two with major color photographs are Art to Wear by Julie S. Dale (1986, Abbeville Press), The Art Quilt, Robert Shaw, (1998, Hugh Lauter Levin Assoc.) and Contemporary American Quilts, Robert Shaw (2009 Sterling Publishing).  She has participated in over sixty major exhibitions, including shows in Chicago, Milwaukee, New York, Pittsburgh, and Washington D. C.  An artist book, Journal Entries 1977-1984, My Life Through Lists, was published in 1986 as a collaboration with Chax Press.  The April/May, 1995 issue of American Craft magazine contained a feature section devoted to her work and she was in the 2004 Featured Artist Section of Bead and Button Magazine.  She is currently attempting to bead an entire deer hide with journal entries starting with 1979.
