RedLine Milwaukee’s in-house “green” community print shop offers the city a traditional printmaking facility, fully equipped for intaglio, relief, monoprint, and silkscreen. The printshop is a vital resource for the RedLine resident artists and teens, teachers, and community artists in Milwaukee who use these resources to create in the historically rich medium of print. Additionally, we offer a paper-making lab, dye lab and a textile/fibers lab is soon to come!
Studio Access Membership
Our Printshop and Art Lab facilities and equipment are available for use by local artists. To qualify for Studio Access Membership, you must first attend an informational orientation. Orientations are typically held on the first Tuesday of every month at 6 pm and are also available by appointment. Orientations include a brief tour as well as a review of rules and safety guidelines. Participants are encouraged to bring a resume of educational or practical experience in printmaking and some examples in the printmaking media in which they are planning to work.
Please RSVP for orientations to email@example.com.
After attending orientation, artists who wish to participate in the Studio Access program will pay a $35 annual fee (or $25 for students). Use of the shop is then available to you during gallery hours for $7/hour and may be paid for with cash, checks or credit card upon exit.
Included in the cost of Studio ACCESS are the use of facilities and equipment, cleaning supplies, newsprint, silkscreen photo emulsion, some inks and modifiers. A limited supply of screens are available for two-week rental with a refundable $10 deposit.
Not included are colored oil-based inks, paper, tape, writing utensils, plates, and blocks. Attend an orientation to learn more!
Studio ACCESS participants are eligible to use the facilities and equipment during gallery hours (currently Thursday 10-7, Friday 10-3 and Saturday 10-3) and on Tuesdays from 3-8pm by appointment.
