Natalie Schmitting

Artist in Residence

Natalie Schmitting is a painter who has continued her studio practice after receiving her fine arts degree from UW-Milwaukee in 2011. She describes herself as a landscape painter who is interested in representing the underlying principle of nature. She sees painting as a performance with each stroke inhabiting drama and discovery. Her work ranges from recognizable to abstract, vibrant and gestural, reflecting sensibilities of abstract expressionists.
