Sue Lawton

Artist in Residence

Sue Lawton was born and raised in the Milwaukee area and has been drawing for as long as she can remember. After receiving her BFA in 2002, she has been working extensively with images that tell stories. In 2011 she published her first book “The Circus and the Cyclone”. Her next book, “The Fire Keepers” is in conjunction with a residency at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center and will be available in December 2014. As both a writer and a visual artist, Sue continues to work on a novel and a body of accompanying images and sees her path as a happy balance between “showing” and “telling”.
