Plus, don’t miss…
Saturday, March 14th – Free “Paper Marbling” workshop with Redline Artist Victoria Tasch. Stop in anytime between 12:30 – 3:30pm.

Learn the ancient art of paper marbling. Instruction will begin with the basics of marbling papers, using carrageenan, acrylic paints, marbling tools and techniques. Learn Turkish style marbling on water thickened with carrageenan (Irish moss). Experiment with a range of materials, colors and papers to create lovely, unique designs. Marbled paper is striking when used as book end papers, portfolio covers, and more. Students will make their own marbled paper coasters to take home!

Artists often find solace in the studio because it is a place that allows for the creation of art to be free, personal and experimental. Redline Milwaukee artists find that the imaginative atmosphere of their open studio space allows them to experiment in often-radical ways. This exhibition sheds light on each of the artists’ own individual studio practices when at their most experimental. The exhibition highlights some of the artists’ most current experimental works and the crucial role they play in the progression of their work.  Without reaching out and attempting new techniques, work is likely to never move forward.
